The Smart Cookies know the importance of having mentors because we value the opinions of distinguished and educated people in business and who know what its all about.
In early 2008, we assembled a Board of Advisors to help us build the Smart Cookies brand into a global phenom bringing on board some of the most fabulous people we know.
Jake Boxer

President of Boxer Capital Corporation and Director of several other related companies, Jake focuses on acquisition, financing and re-structuring of commercial and residential real estate throughout Canada and the United States, creating and increasing value for shareholders. Using his considerable strength in searching out and analyzing new opportunities for value and market cycles, Jake has handled over $200 million in acquisitions and dispositions in the past decade.
Jake completed a B.Sc. in Cellular Biology at the University of B.C.; an MBA at the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University; and a Masters of Philosophy in International Relations, at Cambridge University, England. Jake’s leadership role as a deal-maker, and his unique ability to ask the right questions, has made him an ideal contributor to our Board.
Judy Brooks

Judy has over 20 years of experience in building and running businesses in Canada, the United States, England and Australia. With a knack for getting teams through personal touch and a sense of humor, Judy also has the practical knowledge to make organizations thrive. From marketing to HR, operations to IP — Judy gets the big picture and sees solid infrastructure as the only way to sustain rapid growth. A Director of a Public Company, President and CEO of Blo Dry Bar (a first to market a Blow Dry Bar concept & franchise the business), Managing Director and co-founder of the international professional services company, ProActive ReSolutions, Judy recently sold BodyLogic Health Management, an onsite injury prevention company she founded and successfully ran for 15 years. Judy is delighted to work, in an advisory capacity, for a number of organizations and individual entrepreneurs helping them create and implement their growth strategies.
Bev Briscoe, FCA

Bev Briscoe is a Chartered Accountant (CA) with extensive industry experience in the transportation and industrial equipment sectors. Currently, Ms. Briscoe has her own consulting business and is a director and audit committee chair of Goldcorp Inc. and Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Inc. She is the past Chair of the Industry Training Authority of BC and a current director of BC Rail Company and the Coast Opportunities Funds.
Previously Ms. Briscoe owned a transportation services company and worked in senior management positions in the heavy equipment industry as Vice President and General Manager of Wajax Industries Ltd. and Vice President of Finance of the Rivtow Group of Companies in Vancouver, B.C. She also worked as Chief Financial Officer for various operating divisions in The Jim Pattison Group in B.C. and Geneva, Switzerland. She articled with Coopers & Lybrand and worked with them in Vancouver, BC and Sydney, Australia.
Ms. Briscoe holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
