Change Your Financial Future With One Photo A Day

Recently, a very inspirational Smart Cookie turned me on to Project 365. The idea is to snap a picture of one thing a day – it could be a person, an object, or an experience. It could be something mundane, or something breathtaking, but the idea is to capture something that catches your eye, something of importance to you, something that brings you a tiny moment of quiet joy.

Taylor McKnight, is behind Project 365 and he describes it like this; “ People will often say that their whole lives flashed before their eyes after they experienced a traumatic event. Perhaps it’s a bit morbid, but we think that sounds pretty incredible. When I started taking a photo a day on January 1st, 2004, I never imagined the project would not only serve as a way to remember a year, but also help me understand what was important to me in my life”.

With project 365 in mind, we invite you to embark on a Smart Cookie challenge to snap a photo everyday of those things and experiences that occur in a moment, but are gone in a flash. Focus on those moments and things in your life that cost very little, or nothing a all. It could be a photo, of a pitcher of freshly made iced tea , a picture of a meal you just cooked, even something as mundane as the lip balm in your purse (seriously, imagine your day with out lip balm).

Keep you pictures in a place that’s easy for you to reference. Project 365 has an awesome app you can download here to keep track of your pics. Refer to you photo’s while you’re setting your goals , setting up your Smart Cookie Rather Factor , or even when you’re tempted to spend on something you know you shouldn’t .When we are reminded of what’s really important in our lives, its easy to filter out the rest, and as we know, when we focus on what’s really important, it becomes easier to save money, and the money flows more easily to us.

Cheers to a wonderful weekend and to your photos!
