One Smart Cookie was able to keep her first car in mint condition by maintaining and cleaning it properly and often. Twelve years later, she sold it for a great price and decided to buy herself a newer (but used) car. How did she keep it in tip top shape all those years? She opted to find affordable ways to maintain it.

Clean it for free: If you have access to a place where you can wash your car for free, take advantage of this. This tip is especially for the city dwellers that might not have the space to wash their rides. One of the Smart Cookies (Andrea), for example always went to her parents house to wash her car instead of spending the $15 at the car wash.

For interiors, you don’t have to buy the pricey cleaning products they try to sell you. An all purpose household cleaner will work fine.
