To get an initial idea of what is available, start online and start with the government.

The next and most important step is to join a small business or entrepreneur organization. You can sit and Google your way through your Grant application or you could find a mentor whose been there and done that. One of our favorite organizations with chapters across North American is the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (www.fwe.org). Or if you’re still on a smaller scale, consider the great resource of www.score.org. They offer free and confidential small business mentoring and training. They can help point you in the direction on local grants at your disposal.
