Share Love On Valentines Day For Less

I heart Valentines Day.  Boyfriend, or no boyfriend,  for me its a day to surprise the ones  I love with thoughtful ( but Smart Cookie approved) treats! This year I have $30 in my Spending Plan for all my Valentines day gift giving, that includes my group of girlfriends (near and far) and a very deserving boyfriend. I did some digging this week and can hardly wait  to share what I found for cheap, beautiful, thoughtful finds.

For $15: I’m sending the sweetest little package to an especially deserving friend. This idea came compliments of the fabulous Design Sponge. This teeny tiny packages by The Worlds Smallest Postal Service is made custom with “to” and “from” addresses on it. Inside the little box is a little strip of paper that says “You are as cute as…” Under the teeny tiny crumpled newspaper, my friend will find either an antique china button from the late 1800s – early 1900s or a big red vintage button from the 1940s.

For FREE: I’m sending a Smile Box ( photo and music e-card) to all my girlfriends. I can chose my own music “ I’m  thinking something cheesy and silly and making a colleague of pics on a V-day backdrop. I love that its a little something more than just a plain e-card.

Under $15: And finally, for the boyfriend ( hope he’s not reading this! )- a few years ago I created a list of 101 things I want to experience in my life and now I’m excited for us to create a list of experiences we want to have together. This week I bought beautiful ( non-girly notebook) by Semikolon for $12.95 at Sears, yes …Sears. Over dinner and bottle of wine I’m looking forward to creating our list together. First on the list “ go to Hawaii together :)

Under $10: OK, I may hold off on this idea this year year, but I couldn’t help but share it with you because I thought it was ridiculously sweet and VERY Smart Cookie approved. This ideas comes compliment of a reader of Apartmenttherapy.com. She came home to 579 hanging hearts strung from the ceiling, one for each day the couple were together – heart, heart heart!
